In the tree
One branch sways
Over dry leaves,
One branch over that,
Then twigs.
I do not arrive,
Going and returning –
I walk downhill
And onto the bay
Breaking the mirror.
Swans hiss:
Ten-thousand shards,
Ten-thousand selves.
